Causes of Anxiety--and How to Get Relief

Anxiety is a natural emotion that each and every one of us is faced with at certain times. The problem is that it affects everyone in a completely different way. If you think you are immune from suffering from anxiety, you are wrong because when you think about it, you have probably had anxiety, but may just not have recognized it as such.

Have you ever been in a situation where your heart starting racing or you started sweating a little bit as you were nervous? Most everyone has as it is completely normal to have gone through this in a situation that you were a little unsure about or nervous about. Now imagine suffering those symptoms on the next level and having that same situation that made you a little nervous to take over your life and make you unable to perform a basic function.

There are a lot of causes of anxiety; relationship problems, finances, work, and sometimes it is just genetic and the patient is going to naturally feel anxiety a little more than anyone else. There are cures for this condition though, and different treatments and therapies can help everyone deal with their anxiety and eventually conquer it.

One of the greatest tools to use when one suffers from anxiety is to be able to experience success at what gives them this stress. For instance, if you have a fear of flying, you probably all but pass out when you are faced with the possibility of stepping onto an airplane. Now if you could experience a flight in a controlled setting and realize that it is safe, would you not be able to fly at some time without suffering from an attack?

Now what you would do is surround yourself with support and go through the process of making this a positive situation. Train your mind to slow down when the fear begins to take over and start to tell yourself, flying is good, the plane will land safely.

You can also take a series of short flights with someone who can support you. The moment you start to lose control, your support can help you get back under control by reiteration of your safe phrase and as time goes by, you may find that you can control the whole situation on your own. You can use this process in a lot of different situation and eventually conquer all of your fears!
